About me

Process manager and hands-on process consultant for mid-sized companies and the skilled trades

Sebastian Waack:

Who is behind sebastianwaack.de?

I’m Sebastian Waack — a consultant for process improvement and AI integration in mid-sized companies and the skilled trades. Not a theorist who builds a deck and leaves. I work operationally, close to the day-to-day, straight with the people who make the decisions.

My experience comes from real projects: scaffolding, commercial cleaning, building renovation, live events — industries where mistakes cost money and the pressure is real. I know the situations where tight deadlines, unclear responsibilities and undocumented processes drain energy every single day.

What I bring: the nerve to say the things other people politely step around. And the experience to change them afterwards, concretely. I use AI tools where they genuinely save time — and I say plainly where their limits are.

My grasp of processes doesn’t come from a pure consulting career. I have carried responsibility inside running businesses and live projects, made the decisions, and organised the work so that teams could actually use it. AI is not my starting point and not an end in itself. First the process has to be understood. Then you can decide whether a digital tool or AI really helps at that particular point.

I do this work in two forms: directly for companies, and as a fixed-term operational mandate — on my own or inside an experienced project team. I don’t need to do everything myself; but I do take on a area of responsibility that is mine.

Background

I have worked in event technology and project management since 2007. After finishing my training in 2010 I went self-employed. Since then I have worked on operations hands-on — partly advising, partly carrying responsibility myself inside a running business.

What sets me apart from classic management consultants: I have been in the situations I advise on. Three projects at once, schedules too tight, subcontractors who don’t turn up, teams that have never met. That experience is the basis of my work.

Since 2023 I have been integrating AI tools systematically into my consulting projects — not as a trend, but as a practical tool that saves me and my clients real time.

What I stand for

Honesty

I say what is not working as things stand, even when that is uncomfortable — and then I change it, concretely. That goes for the analysis as much as for the implementation.

Nerve

I raise the things other people politely step around, and I make decisions when they are due. Including the ones that are uncomfortable while the business is running.
