Process and transformation project
From where things stand to a change that holds – without replacing a line role.

The business is running, but a particular process, rollout or change keeps failing to get from analysis into practice.
The substance is the same as in the rest of my work: understand how the work runs, improve it, and get it implemented – without stopping the business.
What is different here is that it is a defined piece of work – planned, steered, and carried far enough that it holds in everyday use.
The existing business is meant to work measurably better. Processes, digitalisation, project steering or change have to be planned and implemented – without permanently replacing a line role.
Take stock of where things stand, develop the target picture and the processes, structure responsibilities, steer the implementation, anchor the change in the business.
Typical situations
- A process is written down, but in practice every department does it differently.
- Software has been rolled out and the work around it has stayed exactly as it was.
- An improvement has been analysed and documented, but never reached the shop floor.
- Several areas depend on each other and nobody is steering the dependencies.

I was building processes before AI existed – operationally, inside the business, with the authority to decide. Not from a textbook and not as a spectator.
16 months of process work inside a running construction business
At a scaffolding company in north-west Germany I spent 16 months working on site logistics, assembly processes and digital planning – in live operations, not in a project bubble. The company stays anonymous publicly.
Teardown time halved
At the IMS 2026 trade fair teardown, the time needed came down from 20 hours to 10 against the previous year – through better qualification rather than more people.
Watched first, then changed
In production at a Hamburg medical technology company, output rose in the same amount of time: more per shift, without extra staff and without longer hours, achieved through clearer processes and qualification. The improvement was spotted on the floor first and implemented afterwards.

How I work
Understand where things actually stand
I take stock of the work where it happens, and I work alongside the team before I judge it.
Settle responsibilities and handovers
Target picture, responsibilities and dependencies get fixed before any measure starts.
Implement the measures
Steer the rollout, deal with objections early, anchor the change while the business runs – not just recommend it.
Document so it can be handed over
Documented so the new processes keep running without me.
Permanently replacing a vacant line manager is not what this mandate is for. Nor is delivering concepts and presentations: the mandate is not finished until the change has actually landed in the business.
If the point is to bridge an open operational role, Interim Operations is the fit. If a new operation is to be built from scratch, that is setting up operations end to end.
Let us talk about the project.
In the first conversation we clarify the starting position, the scope of the project and the time frame. Available from November 2026, preliminary talks any time.
